Four kinds of PDF
Clean PDF
Cleaned before and after conversion, so no metadata from the source document comes along.
PDF/A
PDF/A-2b or PDF/A-3b, the open standard for documents that must stay readable for a long time, as the Dutch Archives Act intends.
PDF/UA
A tagged, accessible PDF that screen readers can read aloud properly. Important for government publications.
Rasterised PDF
Every page as an image, with an OCR layer so the text stays searchable. For the most demanding cases.
Validated with veraPDF
Verilak checks every PDF/A and PDF/UA with veraPDF, the open validator that archives use as well. If a file does not meet the standard, Verilak does not deliver it. You get a message instead of a file the archive would reject later.
A PDF/A also stays valid after redaction. And when you clean an existing PDF/A, its identification as PDF/A or PDF/UA is kept.
Merge into one publication
For a Woo decision you merge several documents into one PDF, with page numbers and document numbers that match the inventory list. The stamps are always upright, even on rotated pages. If all input is PDF/A, so is the result.
If one of the files is not clean, Verilak merges nothing. That way an incompletely cleaned document never ends up in a publication.
